There is lots for our students to do in and around the Kemptville area!
Students attending the Kemptville Campus enjoy opportunities to take advantage of, not only of activities relating directly to student life; i.e., campus clubs and recreational facilites, student events, campus community endeavors such as participating in fundraising for the United Way, etc., but also of services, events and attractions located both locally in Kemptville and also in Ottawa (a short half hour drive away).
Just a short trip on Highway #416 takes you to Ottawa, Ontario. Ottawa is one of the greenest metropolitan cities in North America, offering an impressive number of woodlands, wildlife habitats, rivers and streams where vistors can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities: skate on the Rideau Canal, cross-country ski on the 5 kms of groomed and well lit trails at Mooney's Bay Park, swim at public pools such as the Nepean Sportsplex or Walter Baker Pool. The city of Ottawa is rich in cultural events and festivals. Winter carnivals, such as Winterlude, are celebrated every February with snow and ice sculptors contests as well as a host of other attractions. Visiting Parliament Hill, the Byward Market or a variety of museums can be a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
