Co-op Apprenticeship Diploma for Horticulture Technician
Best of Both Worlds!


In this program you will fulfill the requirements for both the Diploma in Horticulture and the two levels of in-School” of the Horticultural Technician Apprenticeship. You will also have a summer job for two years. In the end you will have received a comprehensive education and have developed many practical skills that will enable you to be successful in your chosen field.

This is a two year program, 4 semesters of in school and 2 summer work terms.

Kemptville Campus Horticulture Program

In the program, you will acquire the science background of plant production (plant science, soil science, plant identification, plant propagation), a grounding in business practices (accounting, business management, human resource management) and the practical skills ( landscape construction I & II, landscape design, Nursery Management) and much more.

In School courses are delivered by a combination of the Campus’ highly qualified faculty and industry partners. You will receive a high quality, well rounded education and training experience while you are with us at Kemptville !

Participants are registered with MTCU as Apprentices, so the work you complete is credited toward your Apprenticeship. With a head-start on Apprenticeship training, and a Diploma in hand, graduates of this program are placed in an advantageous position for a career in the horticultural area.
