Program / Project Management:
The Nutrition, Wellness and Food Safety Centre has a wealth of experience in local, provincial and national project management.

Current:

Health Canada – Total Diet Study:
The Total Diet Study is a study designed to estimate the dietary consumption of toxic chemicals by average Canadians.  Food products are shipped to the University of Guelph, Kemptville Campus, where composite samples are prepared.

Kemptville Campus Equine Program

Past:

National Food Safety Campaign - University of Guelph, Kemptville Campus worked with the Canadian Partnership for Consumer Food Safety Education to develop and manage a national food safety campaign for college and university students on safe food handling practices in the home. The campaign, promotes the FightBac! message of clean, separate, cook and chill and in 2005 was launched on 23 college and university campuses across Canada.

Sector consultation with small-scale food processors in Eastern Ontario 2003.

Manual development and chapter review of the Food Handling and Quality Systems – A Training Program for Ontario's Food Processing Industry. This project was in partnership with OMAF and the Ontario Independent Meat Processors Association.

Canadian Coast Guard Cook's Training Program - University of Guelph, Kemptville Campus was contracted by The Canadian Coast Guard to nutritionally modify and standardize main course recipes used on Coast Guard ships. The Food and Nutrition Management Diploma staff and students completed the research, conducted taste panels and delivered education programs for Coast Guard cooks.

Course content included:- Introduction to topics in nutrition based on  Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating, recipe modification, cooking methods, menu planning, food preparation techniques and safe food handling.
